Chartered Accountant & Founder of AccTek
Helping UK contractors, locum doctors, landlords and SMEs make better financial decisions.
I am a chartered accountant and the founder of AccTek, a UK digital accounting firm built to serve the people who are routinely underserved by traditional practices: IT contractors, locum doctors, landlords and owner-managed businesses. I trained with PwC — one of the Big Four — where I gained a rigorous grounding in audit, tax and financial reporting that continues to shape how I approach every client engagement today.
Over a career spanning more than twenty years, I have worked across the full breadth of UK taxation and corporate finance. Early on, that meant audit fieldwork and statutory accounts for PwC clients across Telcom, Tech and service business. From there I moved into industry-side finance leadership, holding senior finance level positions where I was responsible for management accounts, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, year-end statutory reporting and board-level financial strategy.
That experience taught me something most accountants never learn from the inside: the gap between what business owners actually need from their accountant and what they typically receive. A contractor working through a limited company does not need a bookkeeper who files their return. They need someone who understands IR35 status, who models the optimal salary-dividend split every year, who knows when to defer a dividend, and who spots the pension contribution opportunity before January. A landlord with four buy-to-lets needs someone who genuinely understands Section 24 and can model whether incorporation makes long-term sense. A locum doctor earning across multiple NHS trusts needs someone who can calculate tapered annual allowance properly — because the consequences of getting that wrong are severe.
I founded AccTek because I saw an opportunity to build an accounting firm from the ground up using the technology and automation that most practices treat as an afterthought. Every process at AccTek — from onboarding and document collection through to quarterly submissions under Making Tax Digital — is built on a modern, cloud-native infrastructure. We use Xero as our core accounting platform, connected to automated workflows for client reminders, deadline tracking, Companies House monitoring and HMRC compliance. Where most firms have admin staff manually chasing documents, we have systems that do it.
More recently, I have invested heavily in AI-driven finance systems. AccTek now uses AI for content analysis, HMRC press monitoring, client communication triage and internal knowledge management. I believe accounting is moving toward a model where the human expertise — the judgment, the planning, the relationship — is amplified rather than replaced by automation, and I have built AccTek to be at the front of that shift.
I hold the ACA qualification.
