The one-way rule
Nella connects to Xero, FreeAgent or Sage through each platform’s own permission system, using a read-only connection. It can view your figures to build insight — it has no ability to create, edit or delete anything in your ledger. Answers reach you on the web, WhatsApp, ChatGPT or Claude. The direction of travel never reverses.

Plain English, not small print
You grant access inside Xero, FreeAgent or Sage’s own permission screens. The platform enforces the read-only boundary — it isn’t an AccTek promise you have to take on trust.
Nella can read your figures to build insight packs and answer questions. It cannot post a journal, raise an invoice, change a code or delete a transaction. There is no write access to misuse.
Disconnect from your Nella settings, or revoke the connection inside your accounting platform, at any moment. Access ends immediately — no phone call, no notice period.

Nella prepares questions and insight, not submissions. Filing stays with you and your accountant.
Nella has no connection to your bank and no payment capability of any kind.
Nella provides information and education from your own data. Judgement calls are routed to a qualified accountant, and Nella tells you when it’s doing so.

Nothing is read until you authorise the connection inside your own accounting platform. No connection, no access — you can even try Nella’s public tools first without connecting anything.
Every connection between your ledger, Nella and your chosen channels runs over encrypted connections (TLS). Your figures are never sent in the clear.
